NEWS: FIA investigates Monaco tediousnessness

There was controversy in Formula 1 this week with news that the FIA is launching an investigation into Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix following allegations that it was ‘more boring than being trapped in a lift with Nigel Mansell’. Sources in a café close to the FIA say the move has been prompted by news that one F1 fan who watched the entire race on television ‘actually died’ from boredom.

‘Monaco has never been the most interesting race in the calendar,’ noted Maurice Ital of Every Other Sunday magazine, ‘But this year’s race really was so tedious many people in the paddock were secretly hoping James Allen would come down to the pit lane, just so we could feel pain again’.

Which is why we watch the race on ITV.

Our loathing of James Allen sustains us for the race duration.

Nigel Mansell isn't that boring. All the times i've been in a lift with him, he's been charming, witty and generally steered the conversation onto subjects that have captured both my interest, and imagination. Although I am biased, as I was the person who bought his moustache on ebay.

I have just watched the start of the Canadian race. I say the start, coz I fell asleep at about lap 10.... In F1's defense it was on at 3:00am (I'm in Oz), but not even the whining tones of the incompetant tit Allen could keep me awake from the tediousness of it all. I had just watched the MotoGP race from Spain. The lead bikes managed to overtake each other more times in 1 lap than I've seen in F1 all season. Oh at the Oz round we got Muddly Talker for commentary purposes. The guy should never have retired.
